Concert for Bosco raises over £3500

This year's Concert for Bosco raised £3775 for the camp thanks to a great turnout and some wonderful performances.

On Saturday 3rd February 2018, the Concert for Bosco raised over £3500 for the camp. Held at New Windmill Hall, Upminster, the concert was organised and presented in equal measure by two of our volunteers, Joe Allen and Jacques Allen. With their help, we were able to present a varied musical programme including four of Chopin's Preludes, Beethoven's Violin Sonata No.7, Bach's Double Violin Concerto as well as a selection of folk music.

A range of talented musicians performed, including Alex Carter, who has toured with the Essex Youth Orchestra; Andrew Wright, the director of music at Brentwood Cathedral; Artre Wangcharoensab, a graduate of the Royal College of Music; the Toot Hill Folk Club; as well as our very own Bosco helper, Jacques Allen, himself an accomplished pianist.

Jacques told us that his performance meant a lot to him because "I wanted to use my skill to help ensure that this camp could still run effectively and charitably each year". Raising such a large amount of money has certainly achieved this!

We would like to offer a huge congratulations to everyone who took part, especially Joe and Jacques for their equally tireless efforts in organising the concert, and an even larger thank you to all of you who donated so generously. As Joe says, 'it is by the kind donations of people like yourselves that we can continue to run this camp.'
